If you meet the pre-sessional entry requirements, but do not see an offer condition on your student portal, please contact the admissions team for your chosen academic degree course. You can find their details on the University study pages.
*Please see your degree offer letter or My Manchester portal for details of your booking deadline. The deadline date is based on the date you receive your offer. We have several deadlines throughout the admissions cycle to ensure we have capacity on our very popular summer pre-sessional programmes. The final booking date refers to the latest date a booking can be made. All places are subject to availability.
**All bookings are subject to our booking conditions - please ensure you have read them thoroughly before booking.
Pre-sessional course payment
If your application to a pre-sessional course is successful, you will be asked to pay the full pre-sessional course fee to accept your offer and book onto the course. For details on our course fees please see the table above.
Payment of the full course fee allows you to demonstrate your commitment to attending your pre-sessional course and helps us to plan the resources required to deliver our pre-sessional courses and support our students.
Your offer letter will include instructions on how to pay for your pre-sessional course.
Pre-sessional course refunds
As part of accepting your offer for a place on a pre-sessional course, you will be accepting the booking conditions from the University Centre for Academic English (UCAE). If you wish to make a change to your pre-sessional booking i.e. cancel your place, or, transfer to a shorter pre-sessional course, your request will be subject to the booking conditions.
If you cancel your pre-sessional course within 14 days of booking, you will be refunded in full.
If you cancel after the 14-day cancellation window and up to up to 20 working days before the start of the course, your fee, minus the non-refundable administration fee of £250, will be transferred to your account for your degree course, or refunded (by request).
If you cancel your course fewer than 20 working days before the start of the course, you are not eligible for a fee refund.
All cancellations must be received in writing.
For full details please refer to the pre-sessional booking conditions page and the dates and fees page which shows cancellation deadlines for each course.
Applications to transfer to a shorter pre-sessional course will not be considered after the cancellation deadline of the course to which you originally applied. Should we agree to a transfer to a shorter Pre-sessional course, any remaining balance of tuition fees can be transferred to the balance of your new undergraduate or postgraduate degree programme, minus the administration fee of £250.
Once you have booked onto a pre-sessional course, our booking conditions apply, so you may not receive a refund in fees (see below).
Please carefully consider the clear advantages of studying on a pre-sessional course in terms of raising your level of English language proficiency and academic skills, and preparing you for studying at this University.
Should you cancel your pre-sessional course within 14 days of booking, you will be refunded in full.
